“Anka Dabrowska sees herself as an outsider, who takes the familiar and exposes it through a lens born of migration, gender and sexual politics. She is an artist who has been described as an urban anthropologist. She is a collector of stories, slogans, memories, architecture, sounds and images. She takes disparate elements, the familiar and the unknown, the flotsam and jetsam of urban life and the language of the streets and pulls them together in a fantastical mix of punk aesthetics that really do defy categorization.”
