THE ROYAL LONDON 2011-2012
Mixed medium, paper, found wallpaper, spray paint, concrete, plaster. Currently in storage (Previously kept on the Ground Floor).
This commission by Dabrowska is based on the shapes and architecture of The Old Royal London Hospital. Tiny jewel-like constructions are made from scraps of packaging, photos and found material. The drawings, which form part of her installation, refer to images found in and around the local area and reflect the vibrancy of the street life of Whitechapel. By bringing in traces of the old hospital, the artwork celebrates the Royal London Hospital’s transition into its new building.
